Can someone please tell me how to stop the signal level screen from disappearing after 1 minute?
I have the V-73 HD meter
It is very frustrating to have to press the info button every 60 seconds when trying to align a dish. I must be doing something wrong because I can't believe this is expected behavior.
I have upgraded to the latest firmware and I notice that without anything connected it still reports a signal strength of 4% and Quality of 30!!! WFT ???
I had another look. I found the Timeout option under the OSD Setting menu and I have managed to increase to the maximum of 120 seconds.
120 seconds?? Really?? That is not a lot of time. Considering that this is device is a satellite finder rather than just a satellite receiver there should be an option of no timeout.
I am about to add some extra LNB's to one of my dishes and 2 mins is not enough. I know this is a very cheap device, but having the signal bars on a satellite finder disappearing after only 2 mins is really not good at all.
I use a tone type finder in the LNB cable.
I find this is much easier to find the sat and then I use the TV picture and signal strength to fine tune the dish / LNB.
I can not remember what happens if you use a hex editor to change the value for the time out to Zero.
I did this once but have forgotten the result.
To find the value, use a hex editor and compare two user files, each with a different setting for the time out.
Then change the value to Zero (00). You could also try changing it to FF or FE, as that may give you more time.
If you can not do this, you can send me two copies of your user files and I could do it for you.
