GTMEDIA V8 Finder2 C-band Signal Quality Issue

Post by kazmi »

Hello,

I have a GTMEDIA V8 Finder2 meter and have an issue with C-band signal quality that is very low and I am not able to scan C-band TPs/Channels.
I have already checked/verified the following:

Factory reset.
Software upgrade.
13/18V is fine.
KU band scanning is ok but a little bit lower quality.
Tuner IC TS6011 was replaced with a 100% working meter but the problem is the same.
All other components are tested as per best knowledge but unable to diagnose the fault.

It has been working fine for a long time but suddenly OFF due to faulty LNB and now facing this issue. Please master if someone has the idea to rectify the fault then please guide me.

As the input RF is the same for all LNB's, ku or C Band. the issue must be with part of the IF band.
You can scan a C band using a LNB setting for ku.
Your issue may be that the LNB setting you use is not scanning the full IF band.

Try other ku band LNB setting and see if you get the channels.

Thank you Owen,

I tried my best but failed. Signal intensity is better but signal quality is Low. So I can scan only 2 channels of c-band while my other GTMEDIA finder and receiver box can scan 160 channels with the same dish/lnb and settings. KU and C-band pictures are attached for reference.

You should not look for a higher intensity, you should just look at the MER, An acceptable value would be 10dB, ideally greater than 12dB

It has not been solved until now. how can we increase the MER? It seems to be a hardware fault but I cannot diagnose it. Anyone can help, please.

To improve the MER you have to orient the antenna well
The MER is a quantitative tool that allows to assess how good a digital modulated signal is.
