Upscaling
Does the GTMEDIA X1 actually upscale to 4k? Three of the four ATSC 3.0 channels in my area broadcast 1080p while the other one broadcasts 720p. Just for fun I decided to press the info button on my TV remote. It indicated that all 4 were UHD HDR. I went over to the ATSC 1.0 channel list, and every single channel I looked at indicated UHD HDR. The vast majority of the ATSC 1.0 channels are actually in 480p.

Re: Upscaling
I don't think the X1 upscaled, but depending on your 4k TV it may upscale to 4k. I have my Sony TV upscale the HDMI port. You really would not want a 480i upscaled to 4k as my guess it would not look good.

No, it does not look that good.
While playing around in the settings of the DVR, I changed the display resolution to 1080p/60. The channel I checked then was 1080p/60. The channel is a 480i subchannel. I would really prefer native resolution.

Re: Upscaling
Correct I am not sure how it works to upscale. I am running two X1s on my Sony 4k TV. I have one plugged into the TVs HDMI port (ports 2&3) with Enhanced Format which upconverts to High Quality HDMI 4K 60p 4:2:0 10 bit, 4:4:4:,.4:4:2
On the X1 box Android 11 settings I have screen resolution set on Auto switch to best resolution and Display Mode set to 4k2k-60hz, HDR policy set to adaptive HDR.

My auto switch is turned off. Default had it on and I thought that if I turned it off, it would actually turn off.
