Hi together,
I used my new V8 Finder Pro succesfully in installing a new Astra Satdish.
Now I played around a little, and tried to use the Finder on a Cable TV connection I have (Vodafone Cable).
Now - how the heck so I get it to receive anything there?
Honestly - I'm not even really clear which connector I should use - LNB or ANT IN?
Not talking about the settings, where the finder wants to know sýmbolrate and modulation.
Any hints?
Regards
Carsten

Use the antenna input as that is the UHF frequency input.
Then in the cable TV menu you can enter the frequency and rate etc you know are on the cable.
It looks like "range search" (yellow button) is the blind scan option, but you still need to know what symbol rate to use.

Ah - got it.
Thanks a lot
But the whole usability has a lot of room for improvement. As soon as one accitentially presses EXIT one time to often and leaves the Cable-Mode, all channels are lost and a re-scan is needed.
User-friendly is something else ....

I find that the Menu button often works as a "Back one menu" in GT Media units.
As you say exit drops all the way out.

Re: V8 Finder Pro and German Cable TV
Hi,
today I went to a friend with cable tv to try out the finder there. Modulation and symbol rate have to be specified correctly, otherwise the range scan won't find anything. A blind scan would be very nice to have.
When the range scan has finished, all found channels are saved. You can switch between different modes und press exit as often as you wont to. The channels stay saved. To switch between different satellites, terrestrial and cable, you can use the keys SAT and RED in the list.
Doesn't this work with your finder?
