V8 Finder 2 freezing on update

Did you use the unpacked .bin file, not the .zip folder for the software as renamed flash.bin?

You must put the renamed firmware flash.bin in a USB connected in the Finder and when you turn on the Finder press menu
If it is not installed it is because of not incorrectly renaming the firmware

From your other post that has the youtube video, I see you have a early model Finder 2, GREEN.

These Green finder 2 units have a small 3.7 volt battery in them.

I suggest you try the recovery with the charger connected to help keep the voltage up during power on / boot.
Or try after fully recharged.

Hello. Please follow these steps:

Upgrade steps:
1. Download the upgrade file GTMedia_V8Finder2_xxx.zip and unzip it
2. Change the file name of GTMedia_V8Finder2_xxx.bin to flash.bin, and copy flash.bin to the root directory of the USB disk
3. Insert the USB disk, restart V8 Finder 2, and hold down the MENU key while powering on. The system will automatically upgrade.
4. After the upgrade is completed, the system will automatically restart and enter the main interface.

Notice:
1. It is recommended that the USB disk be formatted into the FAT or FAT32 file system.
2. Do not use a card reader to convert a USB disk,it may not be recognized correctly.

I tried this software just now, but I got the following error "buffer data does not match SPI chip!" Could it be that the IC flash memory is damaged?
