A question about GTmedia v8 finder 2
I prepare to purchase a v8 finder 2 since it looks good and has the spectrum function. Before that, I have a question: what minimum number of signal quality can it detect and show on the progress of Signal Quality? I have watched numerous of the testing v8 finder2 videos on youtube, and what I can see is the quality number will suddenly turn green(i.e. be locked) without any low number shown during the process of aligning the dish. I doubt whether v8 finder 2 can help me find the satellite with a weak signal. Specifically, can it show the quality such as 5%, 6%, or so on during the detection of the signal? If it were not, what the minimum number can it print? Please answer this question, I really like this machine.

To align a satellite, it is located in 5 seconds, then it is necessary to adjust altitude, azimuth and polarization, the most important data is the MER that varies depending on the MUX, the minimum is 8 dB, acceptable >12 dB, always check the weakest signal, use an FTA channel

Could you please tell me what the minimum signal quality number it can start to report? I don't know what MER does.CAJE wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 9:09 amTo align a satellite, it is located in 5 seconds, then it is necessary to adjust altitude, azimuth and polarization, the most important data is the MER that varies depending on the MUX, the minimum is 8 dB, acceptable >12 dB, always check the weakest signal, use an FTA channel

It is a fact that is not important, the minimum PWR is 47dBμV
The modulation error ratio for DVB signals (MER) is the measure of the quality of digitally modulated signals

Re: A question about GTmedia v8 finder 2
for DVB-S data measured in the final shot
PWR >47dBμV ideal >80dBμV
BER 1,00E-O4 to 0.00E-00 ideal 0.00E-00 (no error)
MER >8 ideal >12dB
C/N >11 ideal >12dB
For DVB-T the data is different

Re: A question about GTmedia v8 finder 2
what the number of the signal quality would be If PWR were 48dBuv and MER were 9? I mean what the case would be if the signal is on the edge of the minimum number the instrument can solve?CAJE wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 8:11 amfor DVB-S data measured in the final shot

In case of inclement weather, it is more sensitive to losing the signal
