Hi

I'm trying to upgrade the firmware but it's just not happening

Does the USB drive need a specific file name?

It knows the storage is there, it's just not showing the file to upload.

Any suggestions please

Unpack the .zip folder and use the .bin file.

You can only use the V71 software on the V71.

For Asian satellite not on the list in the V71, manually "ADD" them and do a blind scan to load the TP's.

The V71 is a very old unit.

No other software will not run or load as each model has its own software.

For newer video formats like HEVC the unit would need hardware / firmware upgrades.
The same for newer satellite formats.

GT Media software onky for GT Media units.
The "Other" brand you have may crash if you try to load GT Media software.

Hello I am a new on theis forum
I have a V71-HD which has a fault in the battery charging circuit (I have to charge the battery outside)
Ther are 2 ICs (8-pin & 14-pin SMD)that are broken( overheat-burnt) I can not see which type they are?
can anyone tell me where I can download a circuit diagram ?

Don't plug the wrong charger in again, if that was what happened.

I have my 5 volt units flagged with red tape, both on the power plug and the box across the power input.
I once plugged 12v into a 5v HDMI switch and smoked it.
It is a pain when all the units use 5.5mm power plugs.

I am happy its all working well (charging and reception)

Can you confirm if this is the latest release?
Where/how could one download the update?

I tried to update to 2017 again via a flash drive (the same as before the update), but the process seems to be going well, but after a reboot the same error still appears, and the firmware version does not change.

To downgrade the software you need to use the forced recovery method.

The software will not downgrade from the menus.

This user has the very old first hardware finder the V71, not the later Finder-Meter, so that version of software is the one listed for the V71.
