GTMEDIA V8 Finder Pro 2 DVB-T2 problem
Hi everybody,
I just recently bought this device and have problem with the measuring and finding DVB-T2 channels. When I disconnect the antenna from the TV (TV has the signal) and connect it to this device, I can not get any signal quality. It shows the signal but the quality is jumping form 0-30-0 %. I have tried this with multiple antennas, but nothing has changed. Does anyone have some ideas what to do?

Check you do not have the antenna power "ON".

Do you have a mast head amplifier?
If so that will drop the signal strength and make the quality jump from lock to no lock.
Some mast head amps use 12v, not the 5 volts that the pro can supply.

Can you connect the finder AND the pro so that the TV supplies the amp.
If not that maybe the signal is low and the TV has a better sensitivity than the finder.

It is direct antenna without any amplifier. The purpose of this device is to position the antenna. Antenna is currently in best position, it has optic visibility to the TV transmitter, but I cant find anything on this device. On TV I have almost full signal and full quality.

Is the problem the frequency / formatting?
There is a list of countries to choose from.
Find one that matches your frequencies.
eg: I use Italy here for New Zealand.

I am in Croatia and I have selected Slovenia since Croatia is not on the list. Slovenia uses same frequencies as Croatia

With UHD antennas I have found moving them up . down , left, right, forward and back can help.
I once found "Nodes" at 3m spacing for a VHF TV antenna in three detentions, I moved the antenna 3m here and there until I found a node by a tree to nail the antenna to.
Also having something behind the antenna to stop other signals from entering the back of the antenna, like the roof of the house.

Is the cable lead you are using to the finder OK?

Re: GTMEDIA V8 Finder Pro 2 DVB-T2 problem
I have tried with one logy antenna on the roof of my house with the clear visibility as I already mentioned, I mounted that antenna with other device couple of years ago. I have also tried with antennas of my two neighbors, with one antenna on other part of the city and with the indoor antenna at my place. In all situations i have excellent reception on all locations with TV-s, but no reception with this finder. I have also updated it to the latest version of firmware, but situation was the same.

That does sound like the finder is faulty.
It should get close to the same signals the TV does.

It is a signal meter that greatly facilitates the entire technical process required to tune digital channels. If everything complies with regulations, the broadcaster can be viewed correctly.Cizma wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 9:02 pmI have tried with one logy antenna on the roof of my house with the clear visibility as I already mentioned, I mounted that antenna with other device couple of years ago. You can put images of the values you have and that way you can value that installation
