Depends which STB are you using. I have tested the V9 Prime. It is still using the older firmware (bin file) from late 2024. Sorry, I dont have the number handly. It has a newer update available to fix some glitches, but I have not bothered switching to it yet.
*****As far as I can tell, you must initially have an internet connection.This box has built in WIFI (and also a CAT Network plug if you prefer to hook up directly to your router) The built in software should find the code automatically. Unless you know how to get into the hidden menu, you will not know or see any codes. You dont need to. I am still "testing" and learning how the V8 Finder2 and V9 Prime boxes work. I have found ( with the V9 Prime) once internet is connected and has loaded your Router address, it seems you can actually then turn the internet connection off/ or disconnect from the internet if you want.
I also have a V8 Finder2. With that unit, you need a USB WIFI stick to get the internet for SOME programing- like the one you are wanting.... Be careful which kind of USB WIFI stick you get as only specific chipsets will work. Check this Fourm for info . I think the WIFI USB stick GT media sells is your best bet, but one with a similar chipset should work. I think it is a RALINK RT5370. Also a MT7601 chipset is supposed to work, But check this form.
I think other GT Media STBs work diffrently. I do not know where or how to get the codes you are otherwise looking for. If someone knows, please PM me directly! Please be discrete. We are all just `testers`and dont want programing Providers to get upset and move to BISS 2--or move to Internet Only distribution! (no more Satellite downlinks
)
Pehaps someone else can comment on the info I have found. TNX

I found on this TP, which is the Weigel networks, that software version 163 auto rolls the keys on my V9 Prime. Later software just sits there forever and says scrambled. 163 seems to work best on other sats also.
The 163 that I downloaded from this website makes scrolling text, like the ticker tape on CNBC, very jerky. The original 163 that came on the box works smoothly.

Please report back if this version is still working as it is now?V9PrimeJockey wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 9:58 pmI found on this TP, which is the Weigel networks, that software version 163 auto rolls the keys on my V9 Prime. I am testing with my GT Combo, also Android, where BBC powervu channel off 166e stopped showing video, just a black screen after the key is rolled.
I did a reset with the internet off and then reboot as is needed, reloaded my user file and disabled Chrome and the google stuff.
BBC is still showing, but I expect updates to come and stop it.
Your issue could also be your network provider blocking access to the V9.
Maybe the older version does not "Tell" the network the same ID for the box.
My modem blocks me seeing RT news by internet browser stream.
My former net provider did not.
Most older "Domb" V8 boxes like the Turbo and V8X are now blocked by youtube at youtube end as they can not stop those boxes from recording the video.
They can control Android, but need to load files.
That is why I ask for another report in a week.
