Getting black picture for some ATSC 3 channels (audio works)

For ATSC 3 frequency 213MHz, I get 5 channels. CBS is fine: I get picture and video as can be seen in the first image. The second image is NBC, on the same frequency. I get audio but no picture. The last image is the scan for the frequency. S and Q seem fine. But I get black screens for 3 out of the 5 channels (audio works for all).

I'm in the Los Angeles market. The problem doesn't seem to be with encryption, because CBS is encrypted but comes through fine. The black screen problem is only with some ATSC 3 channels. I didn't find it with any ATSC 1 channels.

I installed the latest player (2.39, as can be seen in the bottom left of the first image). I rebooted the device (by unplugging the power for 10 seconds). Made no difference. I'm connected to the router with wifi and the connection is fine.

I want to get these channels because then I can record CBS and NBC simultaneously.

Others have reported issues with using a in line antenna amp AND cable faults from antenna to the amp.

I'm using an RCA indoor antenna (placed in the window) with no amplification. It is connected directly to the X1. I've tried with other indoor antennas with the same result. Are there recommendations for the antenna?

Does your indoor antenna have a amp needing antenna power "on" from the X1?
check the voltage is OK, 12 or 5V.

My antennas do not require power, as far as I can tell. But I don't think so, because they work for some channels and not others. I tried improving the signal but couldn't get it out of yellow. Is yours in green?

Sadly here in New Zealand I do not have ATSC 3 or 1 and so no X1.
tag875 is in the US and knows of these things.
