Yes if you by a clone like mine, you need to check if the clone maker have a website for update. If is not...humm nothing to do with a clone product.

Upss cuantas copias, yo he trasteado con dos V8 super y parecen clones, pero como cuidarse de los imitadores, seguro no tardan los de Gt-media en meter en las actualizaciones firmwares mata clones.

Ok I think I possibly found out why you should be careful buying a copy V8 finder I was using it out at the dish and bumped the coax against the pole and the whole end came off ..it had worked fine till now ...I did notice battery was dying very fast but would last long enough for me do adjustments. I will attach pic note the f connector a bottom that was attached to tuner on board and two white connectors not one red..any how i had gotten it from amazon and felt they were reputable but I guess it's not their fault buyer beware right.../home/graham/Downloads/IMG_0692.JPG

Tengo un Gt media v9, y con el firmware 310 me va bien. Le he comprado otro a un amigo y cuando instalo ese firmware , no veo todos los canales, ya me entiendes. y en vez de la fecha me pone none.
¿con que firmware puedo solucionar esto? o es un problema de hardware.

I have exactly same finder that user "norrinraddhr" just posted. It comes with same font on top right screen that says "V8 Finder", too. I could not take it apart because it has "DVB" sticker on the right side. I would have to break the sticker to open it up and that would void my warranty or my chance to return it back to the seller. Also the barcode/serial number on the back is easily rubbed off after playing around it for few hours. I played around with it and was hooked up to LNB for 3.5 hours and the battery signal shows 3 out of 5 bars, so it should be good for 3,000 mAH battery.

I wonder if my finder is also a fake?

After two weeks of searching for original GTMEDIA V8 Satellite Finder finally a found one on ebay. There is many Freesat V8 Finder but I have noticed that GT models are different in specifications and additional have 16APSK/32APSK with how much memory they have. Many models from Freesat have this not in specifications or isn't mentioned, i don't know.
