V8 Finder Meter Unicable

Post by thc04 »

Hi there...

My V8 wont work on Unicable. Firmware is the newest.
Scanning on Astra 19.2 give ca 100 Channels.
After the Scan it wont tune a channel. ( No signal).

Any Hints for me?

Greetings

For unicable you need to know what frequency you are allocated.
Each user on the unicable has a small band of frequency and instructions are sent as to what satellite and TP are to be sent back.
You can not blind scan with a unicable, you need to auto scan and manually add any TP's that your unit does not have.
Use web sites like lyngsat dot com to check what you are missing.

Hello
Thanks for your answer.

I know that blindscan cannot work properly at unicable.
But this wasn't the Problem.
136 Astra 19.2 E Transponder are in the Table.
Scanning at blind, accurat or preset give Max 100 Channels on Max 22 Transponder.
And after the Scan can't tune in a channel. Factory Reset solved this not.
So i flashed the device again with the newest Firmware.

Scanning...
Blind 22 Transponder
Preset 136 Transponder
Accurat 21 Transponder

All scanned channels can be received.

What means Accurat?
I thought that was with NIT, apparently not. What is the difference between Accurat and Preset?

With my device, signal strength is without signal 30, with signal max 85, is practically not possible to make a fine adjustment.
Need an attenuator at the entrance?

Thanks...

Accurate scan is a slower version of blind scan.

There have been some issues with scans locking in other GT Media units.
Try doing a scan with just TV, no radio.

Hi.
Thanks. It worked for me.

Can you answer my question about the 85% Signal Quality?
I only have 3 satellite dishes (80 - 100 cm) to test, two of them are normal with Diseq.
All of them have the same 85% Quality on the Finder Meter.

The quality does not get worse when adjusting in the small area.

I am a little surprised.

Thanks.

Yes I too find the meter reported levels a bit arbitrary.

To adjust the dish I use a TP that has a low level, a weaker TP.

The levels reported are just a reference calculated in the unit.
Each different makers unit has different levels.
